Issues & Platform
Where Jeanne Stands.
No spin. No vague promises. Here's exactly what Jeanne Holland will fight for as your Wright County Commissioner.
Fiscal Responsibility
Your tax dollars deserve respect — not bureaucratic waste.
- Annual independent audits of county departments
- Zero-based budget reviews for major expenditures
- Public reporting on how every department spends taxpayer money
Wright County government should live within its means, just like every family and small business in this county does. Jeanne will push for zero-based budgeting reviews, line-by-line scrutiny of county spending, and an end to automatic budget increases that outpace inflation.
As a first-term commissioner, Jeanne has already challenged spending that couldn't be justified. She'll keep doing it — because accountability isn't a talking point, it's a job requirement.
Lower Property Taxes
Wright County families are being priced out of their own homes.
- Oppose unjustified levy increases
- Identify and eliminate redundant county programs
- Protect agricultural land from excessive tax burdens
Property taxes in Wright County have climbed year after year, squeezing farmers, retirees, and working families. Jeanne believes the county must do more with less — not simply pass higher costs on to residents.
She will oppose tax levy increases that aren't backed by demonstrated need, and will work to identify efficiencies and consolidations that reduce the burden on property owners.
Roads & Infrastructure
Safe roads aren't a luxury — they're a basic county responsibility.
- Prioritize road and bridge maintenance in the county budget
- Transparent, needs-based project prioritization
- Pursue state and federal infrastructure funding for Wright County
Wright County's roads and bridges are the backbone of our economy and our daily lives. Farmers need them to move their crops. Families need them to get to work and school. Businesses need them to serve customers.
Jeanne will prioritize infrastructure maintenance over new administrative spending, and will push for transparent, merit-based road project prioritization — not political favoritism.
Advocating Beyond Wright County
A commissioner who shows up — in St. Paul and in Washington.
- Active engagement with state legislators on county priorities
- Pursue federal grants and funding for local infrastructure
- Push back on unfunded state mandates that burden county taxpayers
Local problems often have state and federal solutions. As a school board member and first-term commissioner, Jeanne has traveled to the State Capitol and to Washington D.C. to advocate directly for Wright County residents — fighting for funding, pushing back on unfunded mandates, and making sure Wright County has a seat at the table.
Jeanne will continue to be a persistent, vocal advocate wherever decisions affecting Wright County are being made.
Protecting Rural Character
Growth should serve residents — not the other way around.
- Protect farmland from unnecessary development pressure
- Ensure new development covers its infrastructure costs
- Keep land use decisions local and transparent
Wright County is growing, and that growth brings both opportunity and risk. Jeanne believes development decisions must protect agricultural land, preserve the rural character that makes this county special, and ensure that new growth pays its own way — not shifting costs onto existing residents.
She will work to ensure zoning and land use decisions reflect the values of Wright County residents, not outside developers or state mandates.
Public Safety
Wright County families deserve to feel safe in their communities.
- Full funding for the Sheriff's Office and first responders
- Support mental health resources to reduce repeat crisis calls
- Transparent reporting on public safety outcomes
Jeanne supports fully funding the Wright County Sheriff's Office and ensuring our first responders have the tools and training they need. Public safety is a core county responsibility — not an area to cut corners.
She will also work to address the mental health and substance abuse challenges that strain our public safety system, connecting residents with resources rather than cycling them through the justice system.
"Wright County residents don't need more government — they need better government."
